Adult Dependent & Eldercare Relocation

Moving to or within the UK and bringing an adult dependent can make the transition especially difficult - whether it's an elderly parent or disabled relative. Our Adult Dependent & Eldercare Relocation service provides all the support you or your employee might need to ensure a successful move.

The UK care market is under-funded and subject to constant change. Trying to understand how a loved one might be cared for in the UK and what support the Local Authority might provide is not a job for the faint hearted!

Our nationwide team of experts helps the employee and elderly parent(s) agree on the best care solution. Our job is then to do everything possible to make that solution becomes a reality.

How the Eldercare Relocation works

Our eldercare consultants are available before, during and after the family's move to listen, advise and assist in finding practical dependent care solutions.

The key stages of Dependent Care Relocation are:

  1. Your own dedicated expert arranges a time to come and see you, together with the dependents or separately as agreed - the Initial Visit
  2. We discuss your eldercare needs in detail and discuss and agree on the best solutions
  3. We do everything and anything needed to make sure the desired solution becomes a reality
  4. You have the care in place you want and need

Our work can and does include investigating local funding; visiting care homes; and finding and recommending the best local domiciliary care agencies.

Thanks to our service, employees are able to:

  • Find trusted care that meets their financial needs and work/life balance priorities
  • Understand how the dependent care market works
  • Be confident about making care choices
  • Move confident in the knowledge that dependent care support will not be a barrier to a successful transition.

Typically we advise on:

  • Costs of a care home and which party contributes how much
  • Council Tax Benefits and Housing Support
  • Disability Benefits (both Attendance Allowances and Disability Living Allowance)
  • Pension Credits, and
  • Applying for and Receiving Grants from the Social Fund.

Why are employers choosing My Family Care?

Our service was developed alongside top employers P&G, Pfizer and Shell, as a way of attracting, retaining and engaging the best talent. We have been working with families relocating to the UK since 1990.
