My Family Care, the specialist family friendly benefit provider, has launched a range of innovative training workshops for the maternity and paternity market, including help for parents with teenagers.
My Family Care has devised a range of workshops and courses following demand from clients who already use its current employee benefit services including Emergency Childcare and Childcare Search & Guidance.
The workshops, run by My Family Care's own specialists, range from help for new parents covering nutrition while pregnant and breastfeeding, early months and years' first aid and also help parents of teenagers with drug awareness, anger management; first aid and study skills.
As well as the short workshops, which employers can host as a lunchtime session, My Family Care has also developed a course covering the role of senior staff in managing employees' maternity and paternity leave.
The final part of the training offering is 1:1 coaching where My Family Care's specialists run individual sessions for staff at three different stages: expecting a baby, preparing to return to their job, and when they are back at work. With the length of maternity leave being extended it is more important than ever to support staff over this period of their working life. An informed parent makes better choices which helps remove guilt and stress.
Ben Black, director of My Family Care, said offering the range of training opportunities was an exciting development.
"Through our established services we know that employers really understand that they must do all they can to help their staff juggle home and work life. It is clear that talented people can be lost unless employers listen to their needs.
"By offering these range of courses we are offering employers another way of helping their staff with caring responsibilities. It is not only new parents who need advice but also those parenting teenagers, to guide them through the many anxieties and challenges that they face.
"All our trainers are experts in their field and offer time poor staff a chance to gain important parenting information, advice and a chance to network with other parents in the firm," he said.
