Work-Life Week and upcoming events
It's a busy time for My Family Care
National Work-Life Week 2011 - Sept 26th-30th
There's a lot going on during National Work-Life Week.
Many My Family Care clients are embracing the opportunity to place the challenge of work+family centre stage and to raise the profile and importance of parent and carer support through family-friendly events.
Flexible Working Survey results announced - Sept 29th
This summer we ran our annual Working Parents and Carers Flexible Working Survey. This year the survey was designed to explore how working parents and carers currently work.
We wanted to create a more intimate picture of the challenges of combining work and family and to understand exactly how flexible working and other family friendly aspects including work culture, benefits and policies can support the needs of both employer and employee alike.
Over 1,400 working parents and carers took part
The fascinating analysis will be published on September 29th 2011 in our newsletter and on our website. Sign up for our newsletter on the right.
Flexible working webinars
Join Jennifer Liston-Smith in October for one of three webinars examining the practical implications of our Working Parents and Carers Flexible Working Survey.

Employee Benefits Live 2011 - Sept 26th-27th
If you're attending Employee Benefits Live this year and would like to have chat with us, you’ll find us at stand 149.
We look forward to seeing you there!
My Family Care 60minute Seminars
We'll be running many seminars and workshops throughout Work-Life Week. Jennifer Liston-Smith, Head of Coaching at My Family Care comments: "It's heartening to have so many demands that the events are spilling into the following week.
Law firm clients are hosting several workshops, ranging from a strategic overview of work-life policies with launches of new technology and flexibility solutions during events and panels we are hosting, through to hands-on practical workshops on managing the balance and even applying our parenting skills as leaders!
We are also busy providing keynote sessions and workshops in banking and accountancy firms, including work-life balance seminars and even first aid for babies and young children. Some events have remote dial-in enabling Work-Life Week to be truly national, and beyond.
In both banking and legal settings we are seeing these events combined with a launch of case studies within the firm: people willing to share their story of how they make it work, whether parents, carers, athletes or mature students. Our facilitators will be ready for a break by the end of it!"
Our Work+Family Update - Sept 29th
My Family Care's bimonthly newsletter will published on September 29th. Our two top stories:
- Reporting the winners of the Top Employers for Working Families, sponsored by My Family Care
- Publishing the results and commentary on our Flexible Working Survey.
We'll also be looking to the future as EAP provider BUPA provides a unique insight into the upcoming issues facing employers.
And seven months on from the publication of the Lord Davies report, Liz Mohr, founder of Grant Mohr Board Review and Development, investigates what progress has been made.
