We recognised that the demographic of our employees is changing. More of them live away from their families, but increasingly have growing eldercare responsibilities, which is why we introduced the service.
HR Manager, Procter & Gamble
We realise the importance of helping our employees balance work and life... Not only is it the right thing to do, but it also has a direct impact on our business and the future of our organisation.
Head of Employee Benefits, Investment Bank
We started providing this ground breaking benefit to our employees when our surveys suggested that the only barrier to our employees returning from maternity leave was finding suitable childcare provision.

By working with My Family Care, we are able to offer employees support in finding the right childcare or eldercare solution to meet their family needs.

Based on usage feedback we know that our employees are almost exclusively utterly delighted with the service that they receive, this reinforces the fact this is the right thing for us to do and that they're getting the support and help that they need.

Sandra Croser, HR Manager, P&G

Women on Board?

What's happened (if anything) since the Davies report

28/09/2011

The number of women on UK Boards has always been small and, whilst some other European countries have been making great strides to improve their female representation over the last few years, the situation in the UK has stagnated.

Lord Davies report recommendations

With this as a backdrop and with increased recognition of the business case for having more gender (and other) diversity on boards, in February of this year Lord Davies published his report setting out recommendations for FTSE 350 companies.

The report chose not to use quotas or legislation to drive the change but to rely instead on a business driven approach.

Has this softer stance done enough and quickly enough?
